Our Norfolk Broads Cottages are situated between the villages of Horning and Ludham.

HORNING VILLAGE is situated on the River Bure, has a range of shops, including a Newsagents, which is licensed and also does the lottery, a local butchers, Post Office, Deli, tea rooms and gift shops. There are also several pubs in the village, most of which will open all day during the season.

LUDHAM VILLAGE has a small supermarket, a very good local butcher, petrol station and a hairdresser. The Kings Arms pub, situated in the centre of the village, has an extensive menu.  Alfresco’s is a small tea room offering lighter snacks.

There is a small General Store within walking distance of the cottages, on Ludham Bridge, for newspapers and groceries, only open during the season. Next door is a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in season.

Our closest large supermarket is Roys of Wroxham, 5 miles away  NR12 8DB. There is also a Tesco Supermarket in Stalham NR12 9AE.

If you would prefer to do your grocery shopping online, we do ask that you try and get an afternoon delivery.

Fishermans Return, Winterton-on-Sea: After a lovely walk on Winterton Beach, you have to stop here. This dog-friendly pub is a favourite to both locals and visitors to the area. All meals are prepared to a very high standard, using local produce where possible. Tel: 01493 393305

Ferry Marina is located in Horning, they have a range of boats to suit most budgets and requirements. Life jackets and fuel are included in the price and you will be given tuition and route advice before setting off on your adventure. 01692 631111

The Southern Comfort, Horning Mississippi River Boat : moors next to the Swan Inn, and runs luxury river trips at various times. It has a small bar if you enjoy a Pimms or a cup of tea. You can sit back and relax and watch the world go round. 01692 630262

How Hill – Electric Eel

A  trail by electric boat, along dykes fringed with plants.  The trip lasts 50 minutes, including a short walk to a bird hide. Booking essential. The boat takes six people and has a roof but the sides are open. In summer and autumn you might find insect repellent helpful. The boat trip is not suitable for children under two years of age. Hoveton – Edwardian luxury on Liana

Take a trip on the Edwardian Boat Liana and travel along the River Bure towards the village of Coltishall. Bookings Hoveton Broads Information Centre. Tel 01603 756097

Ross’ – Horsey Staithe

One hour wildlife boat trips aboard the Lady Ann. A classic wooden boat is perfect for viewing the unique wildlife. Well behaved dogs are welcome!!! 01692 598135
