Another week, another adventure
So the theme of this week’s blog is anniversaries, with two celebratory events for some of the Broad’s businesses we’d like to put some warmth into the chilly autumn air. As the cooler temperatures start to embrace the United Kingdom, it’s time to pack up the garden furniture until next summer and get the robes and fluffy slippers out again.
Food is a large part of being British, over the years we’ve incorporated so many different cuisines into what is now known as proper British food; but there are still those very British flavours that stand out, like Colman’s mustard!
Celebrating 40 years since the Mustard shop and Museum were opened, Colman’s insisted on having a series of special events throughout the year, and so since August 16th 2013 the store has been giving away exclusive products! Every Friday from 16th August, customers who spend over £5 could receive a free exclusive wholegrain mustard, mustard powder, scone mix or even a mustard chocolate bar! Carrying on with the celebrations then, this Saturday 14th September 2013 sees The 38th Yare Navigation Race taking place by Coldham Hall Sailing Club (Surlingham). The race requires yachts to sail the length of the Yare to Breydon Water and back again, a distance of around 32 miles allowing spectators the chance to view the race from Coldham Hall, Cantley, Hardley Mill, Reedham Ferry, Reedham Village and Berney Arms. The yachts measure from 20-40 ft and have been built in Broadland yards and range in age from 120 years to a few months.
