Festive things to do in Norfolk 2022

With only 32 days until Christmas, Norfolk is really getting into the festive spirit, and we just looooove all things Christmas at Hall Farm.  So why not read on to find out some of our favourite festive things to do in Norfolk 2022.

Bring on the lights…

Do you love ❤️ Christmas lights like we do?  Then you’ll simply adore The Tunnel of Light in Norwich. With over 57,000 colour-changing LED lights, this is one of Europe’s largest tunnels of light and is a must-see Christmas attraction. It’s also FREE!

If the idea of gorgeous, illuminated woodlands makes your heart sing, then both Fairhaven’s beautiful Christmas Lights Walk or the stunning Blicking Hall’s Garden of Lights are both really magical. Further afield, Sandringham’s Luminate walk and fairground is definitely one of our favourite festive things to do in Norfolk and Holkham Hall by Candlelight looks simply mesmerizing.

Christmas afternoon tea anyone?

Partial to petite turkey and cranberry sandwiches and delicious mini yule logs…then we’ve got some yummy Christmas afternoon teas for you to try.

Just five minutes up the road from Hall Farm, The Galley is the perfect place for a deliciously festive afternoon tea. Don’t forget to take a look at their gorgeous deli and gift shop on your way out! And if you would rather dine in the comfort of your cosy Hall Farm Cottage… then we have a list of wonderful local suppliers that can deliver straight to your doorstep.  Just speak to Hannah to arrange.

For a different festive thing to do in Norfolk, the stunning igloos at the beautiful Assembly House in Norwich are back until January and their themed Nutcracker Afternoon Tea looks amazing.

Santa Claus is coming to town…

Whether you have been naughty or nice, the guy in the big red suit is making several appearances around Norfolk during December.

Why not indulge in a cooked breakfast with him or visit him in his grotto at Highway Garden Centre. You won’t also want to miss the amazing Christmas decorations and toy department featuring here too.

He’s also making several stops in Wroxham, just a short drive from Hall Farm.  Kids can sort mail in Santa’s mailroom or make Gingerbread in Mrs Claus’ kitchen at the Wroxham Barns Christmas Experience, step into Santa’s Grotto at Roys or travel on the Queen of the Broads with a Santa River Cruise from Broads Tours. He’s a popular man though, and tickets are selling out really fast… so don’t delay.

Christmas shop til you drop…

We’re super lucky to have lots of great places to pick up those unique Christmas gifts in Norfolk.  A short drive away in Wroxham, you’ll find the beautiful Roy’s Department store, which won Department Store of the Year last year and has gifts for all the family. Hall Farm is also just 40 minutes away from the beautiful cathedral city of Norwich, where you’ll find all the normal High Street chains plus over 300! independent retailers to choose from.  You could also take a trip out to the beautiful North Norfolk villages of Holt (it has the most gorgeous Christmas lights) or Burnham Market to pick up those unique gifts.

There’s nothing like a Christmas Show...

And finally, if what really gets you into the festive spirit is a good ole sing-a-long and a Christmas show, then why not book in for the famous Christmas Spectacular at Thursford.  It’s been staging this festive extravaganza for over 45 years and it’s a really interactive celebration of all things festive. There’s also fun for all the family, thrills and water dancing! at the amazing Hippodrome Christmas Spectacular Circus and Water Show.  And finally, last but by no means least, Christmas is panto time (oh no it isn’t 🤣) and you can catch all the Jack and the Beanstalk fun at Theatre Royal, Norwich from 10 December.

Phew…. there are sooo many wonderful festive things to do in Norfolk in 2022… and we hope you like just the FEW of our Hall Farm favourites we’ve shared here…
