Hall Farm Lake was created in the spring of 2000 and originally stocked with nearly 1,000 fish. Over the past 20 years the lake has grown and matured naturally, and we’ve continued to invest in its care, including the installation of an otter fence and careful, responsible restocking.

All fish have either been grown on site or sourced from selected, licensed suppliers with full Environment Agency certification.

The lake is suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners and children to more experienced anglers. While it’s a relaxed and accessible setting, there are also some larger fish present that offer a worthwhile challenge.

Disabled access is available, and the lake is located just a few hundred metres from the holiday cottages.

Hall Farm Lake contains…

  • Common Carp & Mirror Carp (approximately 10–20lb)
  • Perch
  • Bream
  • Crucian Carp
  • Roach
  • Rudd
  • Tench

Fishing Information & Rules

  • Maximum of 2 rods per person
  • Minimum line strength: 6lb
  • Size 6 hooks maximum (or smaller)
  • Please use Hall Farm landing nets and unhooking mats

These rules help protect both the fish and the lake for everyone’s enjoyment.

River Fishing – The River Ant

For guests who prefer river fishing, we have approximately half a mile of fishing bank along the River Ant, located just a few hundred yards away across the fields between Horning and Ludham.

A wide footpath is kept clear along the riverbank, and pegs have been prepared for ease of access.

Fishing on the Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk Broads offer a wide variety of fishing opportunities, from still waters to rivers and coastal fishing. The coarse fishing season runs from 16th June to 14th March.

A valid rod licence is required and can be purchased from a Post Office or directly from the Environment Agency.

The slow-running waters are home to species including Pike, Rudd, Bream, Tench, Perch and Roach.
