Norfolk Fishing Holidays

If you love fishing, the Norfolk Broads could just be that hidden gem you are looking for. With a vast range of fishing options, from lakes to sea fishing, the beautiful Norfolk broads and surrounding coast line has it all in abundance.

The fishing season on the Norfolk Broads runs from 16th June to the 14th March. You need to have a valid fishing license, which can be purchased from your local Post office or directly from theEnvironmental Agency. The water is too slow running for trout or salmon but there are Pike, Rudd, Bream,Tench, Perch and Roach.
Sea fishing is another option with mile upon mile of Norfolk coastline you can either cast off from Cromer Pier where there are plentiful stocks of bass and, at certain times of the year, cod and mackerel. The east beach in Overstrand is a good location for those fishing for dab, flounder and sole, or you could try offshore tope fishing. Day trips are available with experienced skippers.

At Hall Farm Cottages we have approximately half a mile of bank on the River Ant, situated just a few hundred yards away over the fields between the villages of Horning and Ludham. A wide footpath is kept clear along the river bank and pegs have been cleared for your convenience. If it is a quiet local lake that you prefer, Hall Farm has a fun fishing lake that in the Spring of 2000, we dug out and stocked it with nearly 1000 carp, crucian carp, rudd, roach, and a few tench. There is disabled access and the lake is within a few hundred meters of your holiday cottage. There are numerous opportunities for fishing on the broads. Please see below a list of a few fishing lakes close to Horning.

If you are searching for solitude, and looking for a Norfolk broads cottage, Hall farm has an array of options including a 1 bed apartment, there is pet friendly accommodation upon request and disabled access cottages too.

There are plenty of accommodation options in and around the fishing area of the broads. Please feel free to contact us, the team are always happy to point you in the right direction.
