It’s not all about Eggs this Easter!

It’s been a glorious week here at our holiday cottages in Norfolk! The sun has been shining and the birds singing, butterflies emerging and various places across the Broads launching a whole range of exciting events just in time for the Easter holidays.

Since we covered many of these in our previous posts, we thought that this week we’d round up a few great events that feature a little less chocolate (with one small exception)!

On Good Friday, Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is hosting an Easter egg trail through their lush gardens and glades. Every little egg-splorer will receive on ‘eggy’ prize at the end of the trail, then be able to enjoy even more activities in the form of face painting and Easter crafts! There will even be a Scavenger Hunt Bonanza every day over the Easter weekend in the picturesque woods.

For the crafty readers of our blog, why not head down to St. Benets Hall in Horning between Saturday 19th April and Tuesday 22nd April? They’re hosting a craft fair full of trinkets, nik-naks and treats created by the very talented local artists. From stunning jewellery to wooden objects, glass craft to heavenly homemade soaps, you’re sure to come away with a little Easter something for yourself!

Now, we wouldn’t be self-catering and bed and breakfast holiday cottages on the Norfolk Broads if we didn’t include an event for our nature loving readers. On Sunday 20th April0, the CanoeMan is running a wonderful Otter Spotting Guided Canoe Trail. You’ll set off at dawn when the miles of undisturbed tributaries, dykes and streams are free from other people, and sightings of graceful otters are most likely. If you’re lucky you might even catch sight of a kingfisher or bittern!

All of these events are great ways to keep yourselves and the kids occupied during the day, but what about during the evenings? Sometimes it’s nice to do something more than just eat out or go for a tranquil evening walk, so why not take in an exhilarating stage show? Pirates Live is showing at the Hippodrome Circus until Monday 21st April, incorporating water, aerial stunts and plenty of swashbuckling fun into a performance that’s sure to delight the whole family.

Don’t worry if you haven’t yet booked your accommodation for the Easter weekend either, as our holiday cottages in Norfolk are perfectly placed to take in everything the Broads has to offer! Why not take a look around our website today?
