Are you a photography enthusiast? Head down to Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden this Saturday (13th) for a half day fungi photography workshop led by professional snapper, Peter Mallet. Suitable for beginners and intermediates, the workshop will cover everything from subject selection to lens choice, use of extension tubes to composition, lighting and depth of field. A fantastic chance to take some stunning snapshots, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided – you just need to bring your camera. Booking is essential so make sure you ring ahead.
If you’re looking for a real buzz, why not go wild with Wild About Norfolk and visit the Norfolk Beekeepers’ Autumn Fair? Taking place at 10am to 4pm at Easton College it’s a fabulous event for children with plenty to see and do. Wild About Norfolk attracts between 1,000 and 2,000 visitors each year and with over 40 exhibitors and plenty of activities such as badge making, face painting, bird box making and quizzes, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. Free to attend, it’s a great family day out that is sure to tick all the boxes.
If you’re stuck for things to do on Thursday 18th September, paddle down to TheCanoeMan Woodland Activity Centre at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden where you’ll learn the art of bushcraft. Try your hand at lighting fires and building shelters and explore the woods on your lunch break. Think you’re the next Robin Hood? Enjoy an afternoon archery session and learn a new skill – the perfect day out.
If you’re interested in boats, The Museum of the Broads is a great place to explore. The only waterside museum of Broadland life, take a look at boats of the Broads from the last two centuries! Hear the stories of those who made the Broads come alive and enjoy refreshments and snacks in the café.
