4 Festive Feasts Near Your Norfolk Holiday Cottage

Most of the songs say that Christmasstime is about giving and forgetting – but we think the food deserves an honourable mention. It’s the one time of year when calorie counting and weight watching goes out of the window, giving you time to tuck into a good old-fashioned roast dinner. Our Norfolk holiday cottages are primly placed in the Norfolk Broads near tonnes of authentic market towns. You can easily nip out from any one of our homely sites to treat yourself to an indulgent festive feast over the holidays.

In this blog post, we’ll highlight five of the top places to treat yourself to an authentic Christmas dinner while you’re staying at one of our Norfolk holiday cottages. Please remember: this list is by no means exhaustive, and you can find countless more rustic restaurants serving wholesome dinners across Norwich.

  1. King’s Arms, Ludham

Ludham is just a short drive away from our site on the North Norfolk Broads, and the King’s Arms is one of the most popular restaurants in town. They’re serving a Christmas day menu complete with all the trimmings. Prawn and crayfish cocktails, roast turkey or a fore rib of beef, and a homemade chocolate and orange cheesecake feature on a stunning menu that caters to all tastes and dietary requirements.

We recommend booking in advance if you’re planning on spending Christmas lunch at the King’s Arms.

  1. Bridge Stones of Potter, Potter Heigham

If you aren’t staying in one of our Norfolk holiday cottages over Christmas day, but still want to treat yourself to some yuletide flavour while you’re with us, we highly recommend Bridge Stones of Potter. This one-of-a-kind riverside restaurant boasts a gorgeous setting, glorious food, and a budget-friendly menu with traditional dinners and gravy-soaked favourites. Better still: it’s just a 10-minute taxi ride from your Norfolk holiday cottage, so you can enjoy some festive fizz!

  1. The Ship Inn, South Walsham

A touch further out than Potter Heigham, South Walsham is roughly a 25-minute drive from our Norfolk holiday cottages – but it’s worth the journey. The atmosphere is cosy, the staff are friendly, and the Sunday lunch menu simply needs to be seen to be believed. A selection of locally-sourced steaks, juicy nut roasts, beer-battered cod. The choice of mains is mouth-watering, and each one is accompanied with a side of swarthy local produce.

  1. Your Norfolk Holiday Cottage

Last, but certainly not least, you can treat yourself to an unforgettable Christmas dinner without leaving the comfort of your Norfolk holiday cottage. Each of our properties is furnished with a generous and functional kitchen and a large dining area. Do Christmas dinner your way, at Hall Farm’s Norfolk holiday cottages.
