A Community Christmas Cheer!

As you may know here in Norfolk we believe we’re a pretty close-knit bunch of people, the communal spirit in the Broads is always great and so this week Hall Farm Cottages are sharing events that as always are close to home, but special because they bring the community together too.

With Christmas being a time for families and friends, we often forget about the thought and love behind gifts and look at the price tag, however the Advent and Christmas Craft Fair at St Catherine’s Church in Ludham changes that. With beautifully crafted inexpensive and unique gifts made by local artists and craftsmen, it’s a Christmas goldmine with jewellery, pottery, felt-work, wood turned items, paintings, photographs, handmade cards and much more available to buy. Starting at 10am this Saturday, there will be refreshments including seasonal preserves and cakes available until the event ends at 2:30pm, entry is free so be sure to check it out!

The Timeless exhibition by David Dane comes to the Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden this Saturday 23rd November-Sunday 1st December, and features original oil and Giclée prints reflecting the beauty of the Broads over the last 40 years. As one of the most famous artists in the Broads, David’s work was published by Rosentiel’s in London, which Jenny White describes as “David Dane’s Norfolk is a land of mystery, poised between this world and the next.” in Artists and Illustrators magazine. As a free exhibition visitors will also be able to meet David throughout the event, don’t miss out.

Next for those who love the outdoors and frosty mornings, wake up in our lovely holiday cottages in Norfolk and get into your winter warmers this Sunday 24th November from 8-10am, then head down to the RSPB Buckenham Marshes as you go to explore Birds of Prey including; owls, peregrines, marsh harriers, kestrels over the marshes! Book your place now by visiting the website, ticket prices vary.

Last but not the least, watch out for the annual Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre next weekend from the 29th-1st Decemeber, which will feature fantastic shopping opportunities with a selection of hand craft and specialist gift stalls. There will be festive entertainment in Great Yarmouth Minster plus Santa’s Grotto and Norwegian Craft stalls in the Priory Centre, not to forget the Festive Food and Gift stalls on the Market Place. Entry is free so do come along for a fun family day out!
