Bloomin’ beautiful Broads!

So after a long looooong winter, we’re finally getting to see daylight after finishing work and our wildlife is awakening, this week we’re celebrating British sleeping beauties in the wild and you betch’ya we’ve got some great things lined up for you to explore!

As the oldest Wildlife Trust in the country, Norfolk wildlife trust has for long been a key sanctuary in bird breeding and was one of the first. Throughout the year many events and activities are organised to explore the lush greens and beautiful blues of both the landscape and north Norfolk coast. So this Saturday 20th April 2013 sees a Wild Norfolk Adult Workshop take place between 10am-3pm, it’s a beginners guide to identify trees and starts by investigating the leaves, bark, buds, twigs and general shape of tree. The workshop is led by Nick Acheson and is completely free of charge, though booking is essential, call 01603 598333.

Now although the activities picked this week overlap each other, they do provide you with some of the finer things in life like long nature walks, fresh air and picturesque views…  Take to exploring the ancient woods through the latter part of the morning and walk your way through the afternoon in a ground flooded with bluebells. If you’re interested meet at NWT Foxley Wood on Saturday by 11am, there’s no need to book and our custom-built trailer will be on hand to guide you towards the best bluebells, feel free to bring picnic baskets =)…

Alternatively if you’re looking for a fill in activity or just want to enjoy a quality walk after lunch then a one hour guided walk through one of Norfolk’s largest woodlands is perfect. Pass through a carpet of bluebells and explore the habitats of many wildlife creatures, again there’s no need to book just meet at Norfolk Wildlife Trust in Foxley Wood at 2pm on Saturday, there will be a small fee of £2 for adults and children, but it’s sure to be an hour full of discoveries. Don’t forget to take your camera to capture your special moments!
