Celebrating Spring

Well hello there! *waves* we’ve gone all artsy fartsy on you this week by bringing you a taste of Spring (now that the sun has finally decided to show his face) we thought we’d celebrate with all things fresh, fruity and fabulous around The Broads.

So to start for all you photography fanatics, here’s a chance to get up close and personal with some of Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden’s finest inhabitants and guests, discover the rich wildlife and elective mix of nature, with many watercourses running through the natural environment. Following a short talk about the suitable photography equipment and setting up your camera for this particular environment, you will also learn how to set up a bird feed which will attract wildlife and allow you take some amazing stills. Please bring your own camera and telephoto lens. Course led by professional photographer Peter Mallett. There will be tea/coffee and biscuits available from 1pm in the tearoom; it costs £40 per person and £35 Fairhaven members. Booking is essential so call 01603 270449.

Everyone loves good food and good company, but how about all that with a great view? This Friday 12th April ‘til Sunday April 2013 will see the Spring Craft and Food Fair at Sandringham Park! With crafts from some fine artists, designers and craftsmen you’re sure to be in awe of the many British talents on display. There’s something for all the family with puppet shows and amusements for the children, and the delectable array of cuisine available. Follow the directions for the Craft Fair signs (PE35 6EN) entry is: Adult £6, Seniors £5.50 and Children £2, 10am- 6pm. For more info log onto www.craft-show.co.uk

 

Sitting above a fluctuating course of greenery is the famous Thurne Dyke Windmill, as a famous landmark which is now owned by the Norfolk Windmills Trusts, the mill was built in 1820. This exciting outing allows you to learn about the British mill history and hopefully wind permitting seeing how it works!
