Spring is here!

So after all the complaining in our previous blogs, the sun finally got round to us here in the Norfolk Broads, our guests from over the Easter weekend sure enjoyed themselves! This week we’re prepping you with a load of amazing things to do over spring, obviously staying in our dog friendly holiday cottages Norfolk is one of them! =P

As the slightly crisp mornings invite the sun over to warm them up, the birds chirp in the trees and the excitement of finally putting the washing out on the lines fills the folk of The Broads! Naa not really they’re excited for this weekend… It’s going to be full of excitement, just what you need after a 4 day weekend.  The ever-popular Broads Outdoor Festival is almost here (4th-19th May) celebrating everything weird and wonderful about The Broads, it’s locations and wildlife their festival sees over 70 events taking place throughout the fortnight! This Friday and Saturday however sees the Festival Taster take place at The Forum in Norwich.

With a chance to meet some of the event holders for the festival like The Canoe Man, The Green Boat Show, Broadlands Cycle Hire and many more… With intent to inspire you to get out onto the wonderful waters  there’ll be traditional Norfolk Punts as well as Zin-Zin- a 1933 14ft classic Norfolk dinghy from Hunter’s Yard, plus lots of canoes and windsurfing equipment on display. As a family event, the event has teamed up with local author Phil Johnson, who will be signing copies of his latest adventure The Little Blue Boat which will then be read at organised story-times by Paul Jackson.

Continuing with the sunny spells then it’s the Swallows and Amazing Adventure Days, starting off in Wroxham outside The Canoe Man Shop at 10am the mini-bus will collect you and our guides will take you through a beautiful woodland walkway, from which you’ll embark upon a guided canoe trail for a couple of hours followed by a delicious and fresh lunch in a scenic surrounding, with afternoon activities after lunch and a canoe trip back through the woodlands. Guaranteed to be a day full of exploring and frolic all bookings and enquiries can be made by calling 0845 496 9177.
