An Easter Egg-stravaganza across the Norfolk Broads!

With Easter fast approaching, everyone here at our self-catering and bed and breakfast holiday cottages on the Norfolk Broads thought we’d give you a head start where planning your Easter break is concerned. As well as having a beautiful area of countryside around our holiday cottages in Norfolk to explore, there are also plenty of special Easter events being hosted at brilliant nearby attractions!

First up is our favourite wooded fantasy land BeWILDerwood. They’re hosting a Bouncing Boggle Bunny Egg Hunt from Monday 7th April right through to Tuesday 22nd April, so there is plenty of time to plan your trip! The event is based around the release of the newest BeWILDerwood book and will give children the chance to follow an exciting bunny themed trail, collect a lovely Easter gift, listen to some great BeWILDerwood stories and even make their very own Boggle bunny outfit! They’ll even get to don their very own wiggly whiskers and a pink or black nose.

The Elizabethan House Museum is also hosting an Easter extravaganza with a difference! Their Eggstra-Ordinary Victorians event is running from Monday 7th April to Tuesday 22nd of April and features a unique kind of Easter egg trail! Intrepid explorers will search around the museum to uncover icky Victorian facts and hunt down hidden quails eggs. If you find them all you can even win a vulgar Victorian prize!

While we do love an Easter egg hunt with a difference here at our holiday cottages in Norfolk, we also like to stick with tradition now and then. The perfect place to do this is at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen where they are hosting an Easter Egg-splorers afternoon on Thursday 17th April. The whole family will have tons of fun tracking clues through the woods as well as taking part in other Easter activities. Plus, everyone will be a winner on the day and take home a small prize!

For those who have their sea legs there is always the option of a leisurely Easter Special River Trip with Broads Tours. Running from Friday 18th of April until Monday 21st of April, they’re a lovely way to relax and take in the stunning surroundings of the Norfolk Broads. There will be an on-board nature quiz for children as well as an Easter egg hunt, colouring and drawing competitions and a free Easter egg for everyone! All set around some really interesting commentary from your skipper of course.

These are just our pick of the activities happening across the Norfolk Broads this Easter, and there is so much more ready and waiting for your family to experience. You could even just while away the Easter weekend in the rolling countryside surrounding our holiday cottages in Norfolk, enjoying the peace and quiet and keeping an eye out for the resident wildlife. However you decide to spend your Easter break though, you can rest assured that our self-catering and bed and breakfast holiday cottages on the Norfolk Broads are the base from which to do it.
