A Mother’s Day to Remember at Hall Farm Cottages

Spring is well and truly in the air here at Hall Farm Cottages! Flowers are blooming, leaves are emerging and a whole array of mothers-to-be, are preparing nests and nurseries. And with Mother’s Day fast approaching, it isn’t just the animal mothers who have plenty to keep themselves occupied with down here at the Norfolk Broads!

Bewilderwood is just up the road from our holiday cottages in Norfolk and is hosting a fantastic Mother’s Day event that’s as perfect for mums as it is for children. The Bewildermum’s Twiggle Treat Day will feature fast-paced races for you and your little ones, alongside more laidback activities like brooch and box making. It’s the perfect opportunity to help your little ones fashion a lovely handmade gift return for all of those plastered knees and hearty dinners! Plus, mums go free!

If you’d prefer to spend your Mother’s Day in the lap of luxury, there’s always the traditional afternoon tea being served in Lord Lothian’s study at Blickling Hall. With tempting treats and cockle-warming teas on offer that the whole family will relish, it’s the perfect way to take an indulgent day off from your usual motherly duties!

Mother’s Day at Bure Valley Railway is set to be a day to remember too. They’re offering a VIP train package with a difference – as well as taking in the beautiful scenery by steam train you’ll be treated to a complimentary drink on arrival, a two course set lunch and a special Mother’s Day gift. You can find out more about the event here.

Since the spring surroundings at the Norfolk Broads are blooming so beautifully at the moment, why not take part in the Mother’s Day spring walk at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden? Head Gardener Ian Guest will give you a guided tour around his spring woodland garden where you can take in wild primrose, wood anemones and camellias in complete tranquillity. Mothers will even receive their own Fairhaven primrose as a keepsake!

And finally, what would a Mother’s Day at the Norfolk Broads be without a little boat trip? Broads Tours are running a Mother’s Day Special River Trip complete with light refreshments (and a lovely glass of wine for all mums accompanied by children!). You’ll be told all about the origins of the Broads, as well as given the chance to spot the host of fabulous wildlife that calls this area home.

Of course, those mothers living further afield will need a base from which to explore everything that Norfolk has to offer this March 30th, and our self-catering and bed and breakfast holiday cottages on the Norfolk Broads are perfect. Comfortably able to sleep families of up to seven and equipped with all manner of home comforts, our holiday cottages in Norfolk are the perfect base from which to experience a Mother’s Day treat in truly tranquil surroundings.
