Horning pub opens again for Norfolk Broads visitors

There is some great news coming out of Horning today, one of the Norfolk Broads’ favourite old pubs finally opened its doors again after a sustained refurbishment period.

The Ferry Inn situated on the Norfolk Broads route from the beautiful village of Wroxham and passing through Horning, where incidentally there are 2 other pubs which are also very good and worth stopping off at. (The Swan and New Inn)

We took a trip to the Ferry on Sunday and it has a fantastic outdoor seating area, they have improved child safety by implementing safety ropes close to the river bank, very reassuring as we had a gaggle of kids with us (not sure if that’s the collective name.) The staff were getting used to the busy crowds of summer holiday makers again, if they really wanted a true stress test on when to re-open they have got it in abundance, it seems as if it is going to get busier.

The prices were very reasonable on the drinks, a nice change if you are looking for a low budget holiday in the broads area. We walked from the holiday cottages at Hall Farm along the track and it took us about 20 minutes which was no bother, it is a 5 minute drive around the back roads of Horning Village if you are not in a position to walk along the track.

Overall it’s great to see an old favourite open its doors again, we will certainly be sending our guests to check out the new look Ferry Inn, the next time they are booked in to our self catering cottages.

We will even try to get a discount for our guests, finger crossed.

We hope you enjoy your visit to the Ferry Inn, please let us know your thoughts.
