On your bike!

We mean that in the nicest way possible! The annual Tour de Broads is coming back on Sunday 23rd August for another spectacular cycling event. Hall Farm Cottages in Norfolk love this event and we always come out to cheer on the cyclists, and we make sure that anyone who is taking part in the event and staying in one of our cottages in Norfolk is well looked after.

The Tour de Broads has various cycling events to take part in including the Epic Ride covering 73 miles (ouch!), the Challenge Ride covering 40 miles and a more light hearted, 3 mile cycle for families. The bike ride event covers seven Broads and over 16 Broads’ villages. There are two brand new cycling routes available, no car parking stresses or queueing and sign-ups. You just simple turn up, ride and enjoy the experience, and come back to one of our homely cottages in Norfolk after to relax.

This year, there will be a special guest joining the Tour de Broads. Legendary, professional cyclist Dean Downing, who has won a magnificent 50+ cycling races and he’ll be joining thousands of other cycling enthusiasts on bike ride around the Norfolk Broads. I wonder if Deano will be staying in one our cottages in Norfolk during the event, we sure hope so!

Every year we so many people cycling for different reasons. Some are raising money for their chosen charity, and some cycle as part of a workplace team or sports club. The larger distance cycling rides has an electronic timing available, which is ideal for those looking for a stimulating personal challenge. Everyone receives a t-shirt at the end too. Another reason why we here at Hall Farm Cottages in Norfolk love the Tour de Broads is because all profits are reinvested back into local cycling projects including the Great Yarmouth bike project.
