Wheelchair Accessible Holidays in the Norfolk Broads
Booking a holiday isn’t always stress-free, and when you require a holiday that is wheelchair accessible there are often added stresses. At Hall Farm, we aim to make booking a holiday to the Norfolk Broads simple, and all of our cottages are adapted for wheelchair access.
From the second you arrive, we intend to make your stay comfortable, with level paved access to each cottage allowing easy access. All of our 8 cottages have an open plan living room and downstairs bedroom and en-suite. All of our downstairs en-suites are roll in shower rooms, with a lot of room to move about in. We also stock a large range of equipment to help with accessibility, all of which are available free of charge.
So we’ve got your wheelchair accessible accommodation sorted, below are a few ideas for great wheelchair accessible days out nearby.
Great Yarmouth Beach
Spending a day at the seaside is a quintessential part of a British holiday, and more beaches across the country are becoming more wheelchair accessible. Great Yarmouth beach is great example of how our beaches are doing this, and in 2014 they introduced two specially developed beach wheelchairs that have large pneumatic wheels, allowing access all over the beach.
Great Yarmouth beach also has wheelchair access to the beach huts and disabled parking facilities.
The Waterside
The Waterside brings together boating, wildlife, food, and family activities into one day out, situated on Rollesby Broad. At The Waterside you can enjoy a bite to eat at the café, rent boats on the boating jetty, watch the children play in the play area, and take in all of the wildlife on the broad.
All of these areas are wheelchair accessible and there is disabled parking available.
For those who want to rent a boat, there is a wheelchair accessible ‘Wheelyboat’ available for hire.
Holkham Hall
Holkham Hall is an estate with lots of things to do to keep the family busy, but the Hall is arguably the main attraction. The hall is wheelchair accessible with various ramps and stair lifts, so all of the rooms and attractions can be enjoyed.
There is also access to the walled garden, although some of the terrains can be uneven in places.
