As one of the most looked forward to weekends in the year, bank holiday are about relaxing, spending quality time with family and friends and enjoying good food and company, so what better way than to savour the flavour of Great Yarmouth’s Beer and Cider Festival 2013, hosted by St. James’ Theater the event takes place from 23rd-26th May 2013 and will see over 50 different ales from a wide selection of breweries star in the weekend long event, plus a large selection of the increasingly popular locally produced, to give it that authentic festival feeling there will also be live m

usic and an array of locally produced traditional foods plus pub style games and entertainment! Now as the Norfolk Broads are a perfect family hotspot, here’s something the kids especially will love… get down to beWILDerwood and use your family skills to make mini grottos and turreted houses for the much loved characters Twiggle and Grubble! After you and your family are done making your miniature housing, the kids can go place it by the BIG Hat and watch a tiny village come alive as more families add to the collection! Following on from the building, there will be a special “Barkicrisp Banquet” hosted by our very own Twiggles and Grubbles at 2:15pm for some wholesome family fun!

Pixie and her fairy friends are returning to the Broads this summer with The Fairy Fair, a unique combination of entertainment, nature and magic. Packed with entertainment for all the family, the event features the trusts renowned workshops including: Fairy Crowns, Elf Sticks, Fairy Gardens and back for 2013, Magic Wings Children can also take part in drop-in (no booking) activities such as making a Secret Den, building a Fairy House in the woods, sending a post card from the Pixie Post office or following the Rainbow Trail to visit the Fairy Queen. Families can also visit the Pirate Fete to try their hand in one of the unique Pirate games. Tickets are on sale to general public on 28 March, priced at £7.50 per person, under 3’s free. www.fairylandtrust.org

There’s nothing like reliving the adventure of a steam train, and this bank holiday will be an especially busy one at The Bure Valley Railway; with all coaches in motion and unlimited travel on the day of your far purchase you can travel the 9 miles from Alysham to Wroxham in a range of different trains! There will be games and competitions held throughout journeys to keep the kids entertained, Choo choo Thomas!!
